TORONTO – Fox Sports 1 looks to have gone to Canada to hire on-air talent.
Canadian cable sports channel TSN on Friday said the popular sports anchor team of Jay Onrait and Dan O’Toole are Los Angeles-bound.
Sources at the broadcaster indicate that Onrait and O’Toole, who will continue their hosting duties on TSN’s Sportscentre program until late June, will host a nightly newscast on Fox Sports 1.

“I’m sure Jay and Dan will thrive on U.S. television and endear themselves to a whole new legion of fans,” Phil King, president of CTV programming and sports said Friday in a statement, without specifying where Onrait and O’Toole will land stateside.
News of a possible Fox Sports 1 gig first appeared on the Toronto Sports Media website.
“While all of us at TSN – and their loyal fans across the country – will miss seeing them every morning, Jay and Dan are leaving for an opportunity of a lifetime and we couldn’t be happier for them,” TSN president Stewart Johnston said in his own statement.
