Universal has picked up Little Evil, a dark comedy spec from Tucker and Dale vs Evil writer-director Eli Craig.
Craig wrote the script and will direct the feature, which will be produced by Scott Stuber and his Universal-based Bluegrass Films.
The logline is being kept under wraps. Sources say the deal was in the seven figures.

The project was brought in by Bluegrass Films’ Nick Nesbitt, who will also oversee the project on behalf of the company.
Universal’s exec vp production Jon Mone and creative executive Jay Polidoro will oversee the project on behalf of the studio.
Craig, who is the son of Sally Field, directed the short The Tao of Pong before making his feature debut with Tucker and Dale, which won the audience award at the 2010 SXSW Film Festival. He recently directed the Zombieland pilot for Amazon Studios.
He is repped by CAA and manager Stephanie Davis of Wetdog Entertainment.
