CITRUS HEIGHTS—

After a man stole some clothing at an Auburn Boulevard store Saturday afternoon, police are on the lookout for a man impersonating a law enforcement officer.

Real officers showed up at the Auburn Boulevard and Cook Avenue store around 2:30 p.m. after getting a report of a man who took some clothes.

Police were told that the suspect was dressed in a police-style uniform – which included a black baseball cap, black police-like vest with a “Sheriff” patch and a police utility belt with a silver star badge.

The man was last seen heading south down Auburn Boulevard in a gold or tan Ford SUV.

Authorities would like to remind people to call 911 if they suspect someone may be impersonating a law enforcement officer. Anyone with information about the man is asked to call Citrus Heights PD at (916) 727-5500.
