Robert Linden, associate director of music at CBS Television Studios, died April 3 of leukemia. He was 57.
With in-depth music and historical knowledge of key CBS properties like Star Trek, Linden cultivated important relationships with staff composers and music supervisors.
He was responsible for West Coast submission of music cue-sheet information for all programs to the performing rights organizations, fulfilling legal requirements for third-party licenses.
Linden was on the advisory committee of RapidCue, the industrywide cue-sheet reporting system, and for several years he served on the board of directors of the California Copyright Conference.
Linden attended USC as a music major and played piano and was lead vocalist for the jazz fusion band Zen Boogie. He worked at Paramount Television during the 1990s before joining CBS in 2006.
A memorial service will take place at 10 a.m. April 7 at Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary in Los Angeles. Donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society would be appreciated.
