TORONTO — Beverly Hills, 90210 alum Jason Priestley will headline the Toronto stage production of David Mamet’s Race, which opens at the Canadian Stage Company on Thursday.
The production, to run at Toronto’s Bluma Appel Theatre through May 5, will see Priestley play a shrewd lawyer in his first live stage role since 2000, when he starred opposite Edie Falco in Side Man in London’s West End.

“Performing live onstage is an incredible thrill, especially when given such an exhilarating role,” said Priestley.
The Toronto production of Race also stars Matthew Edison as a wealthy lawyer accused of raping a black woman, along with Cara Ricketts and Nigel Shawn Williams.
Priestley, who played Brandon Walsh on the original Beverly Hills, 90210, in recent years has returned to his native Canada for acting and directing gigs, including on the HBO Canada dramedy Call Me Fitz, which also airs on DirecTV.
In 2012, he directed his first dramatic feature, Cas & Dylan, which stars Richard Dreyfuss and Tatiana Maslany and was produced by Montefiore Films.
