Lionsgate has acquired the U.S. releasing rights to writer-director Guillaume Canet’s Blood Ties from Worldview Entertainment.
The crime thriller, which bowed in Cannes, will be released by Roadside Attractions, in which Lionsgate holds a stake.

Earlier at the Cannes market, Lionsgate U.K. grabbed the British rights to the crime thriller set in the 1970s that stars Clive Owen and Billy Crudup as two brothers involved with organized crime.
The cast includes Mila Kunis, Marion Cotillard, Zoe Saldana and James Caan.
The indie project was written by Canet and James Gray and packaged by CAA,

The film is produced by Alain Attal, Hugo Selignac, Canet, Christopher Woodrow and John Lesher.
Executive producers are Xavier Amblar, Christopher Goode, Kerry Orent, Molly Conners, Sarah Johnson Redlich, Maria Cestone, and Hoyt David Morgan.
The deal was negotiated by Jason Constantine, Lionsgate president of acquisitions and co-productions, with Eda Kowan, senior vp of acquisitions and Wendy Jaffe, executive vp of business and legal affairs, and CAA acting for Worldview Entertainment.
Wild Bunch is handling international sales for Blood Ties. has been busy at the Cannes market this year. The company announced Wednesday that it set an in-house record for sales, with its lineup, led by the third and fourth installments of The Hunger Games, reaching more than $250 million in sales.
