Now that hit songwriter Bonnie McKee is launching a solo career of her own, she’s calling in favors from many of the artists she helped make stars.
Among those appearing in the brand new video for the song “American Girl” are American Idol alum Adam Lambert, Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Carly Rae Jepsen, Jason Derulo, Macklemore, Tommy Lee (in drag) and Glee star Jane Lynch. All are seen lip-synching to Mckee’s soon-to-be summer anthem in a variety of scenes.

Lambert, donning a black baseball cap, acts especially goofy — for the camera.
McKee has written songs for Perry (“Teenage Dream,” “California Gurls,” “Firework”), Lambert (“Cuckoo”) and Kelly Clarkson (“Stronger”), among many others.
