Lifetime has added a nonscripted development veteran to its ranks.
The cable network has tapped Bravo’s Eli Lehrer as senior vp and head of nonfiction development, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Lehrer, who as vp development at Bravo executive produced a number of nonscripted series including The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Flipping Out and Tabatha’s Salon Takeover, will star his new position on July 8 and report to Lifetime exec vp programming Rob Sharenow.
“Eli has an impeccable reputation as one of the very best development executives in the business,” Sharenow said. “He’s got a tremendous sense of character, story and brand that will be a huge asset to Lifetime and build on our rapidly expanding non-fiction lineup that includes the hit franchises, Dance Moms and Project Runway.”
Before Bravo, Lehrer served as manger of East Coast development at VH1.
Lifetime’s nonfiction current programming slate will be headed by senior vp Gena McCarthy, who reports directly to Sharenow.
