SACRAMENTO –

One man is dead and another shot in the arm after an early morning shooting in south Sacramento on Saturday.

Sacramento Sheriff’s got a call just after 12:30am saying that shots were fired near  Baker Ave. and 48th St.

Once on scene, deputies found a 27-year-old man shot numerous times lying in the front yard. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Another man, a 22-year-old, was shot in the arm and taken to the hospital.

Deputies searched the neighborhood but didn’t find any information to help them in their search for a suspect. One witness said they saw a car speeding away from the scene, but it’s not clear if that was related to the shooting or not.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (916) 874-5115.
