LONDON – Legendary singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen has rescheduled one of his British tour dates at the U.K.’s 02 venue for religious reasons.
The 78-year-old performer’s request to reschedule meant O2 owners AEG had to issue an apology to fans for the sold-out show, originally scheduled for Sept. 14.

This year that date is the Jewish day of atonement, Yom Kippur.
The venue owners rescheduled the show for Sept. 15 on Cohen’s behalf after he became aware of the date conflict.
An AEG statement read, in part: “We at AEG, and Leonard, apologize deeply for the inconvenience this will cause, and we hope and trust that the reasons for the changes will be understood.”
All tickets remain valid for the rescheduled date, and any customers who want a refund are being told to return their tickets to the original point of purchase by July 12.
