It’s time for Grobanites everywhere to rejoice.
Josh Groban is guest starring during the next season of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively. Groban will play himself on a season nine episode titled “The Gang Saves the Day.”
While additional details about the episode are being kept under wraps, fans of the show may recall Dee (Kaitlin Olson) and Artemis (Artemis Pebdani) are huge Groban fans — calling themselves “Grobanites.”
Their love of the singer compelled Dee to self-tan and wear white shorts, with Dee explaining “Josh Groban likes his ladies to pop.” The pair even scored backstage passes to a Groban show in season six, but alas, Dee was unable to attend because she was poisoned by Frank (Danny DeVito).
What we can’t wait to find out: Will those bright white shorts make another appearance?

Groban’s recent TV credits include NBC’s The Office, where he played Andy Bernard’s (Ed Helms) brother, and on CBS’ CSI: NY, where he played himself and performed a song.
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia returns in September, where it moves from FX to sister network FXX. In preparation, the show has been unrolling a series of artsy teasers, which can be viewed below.
