Hired:
Fast & Furious 6 editors Christian Wagner (Paradigm), Greg D’Auria and Kelly Matsumoto are scheduled to cut the sequel Fast & Furious 7.
Additional Paradigm client news: Editor ?Scott Gamzon will cut ABC’s Lucky 7, costume designer Jenny Gering was hired for Tracers (Temple Hill Productions)?, consumer designer Cynthia Summers joined the CW series The Tomorrow People, director of photography Phil Linzey will lense CW series The 100, and DP Giovani Lampassi has boarded Fox series Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
Chris Webb has been named executive producer at the Chicago office of Deluxe’s Method Studios, which is co-located with sister companies Company 3 and Beast. Method’s Chicago office is prepping an undisclosed sci-fi feature, and recently completed several commercials.
Cine Gear Expo speakers:
Scheduled speakers on an American Society of Cinematographers panel at next week’s Cine Gear Expo include ASC member cinematographers Stephen H. Burum, Karl Walter Lindenlaub, Roberto Schaefer, Nancy Schreiber, Charles Minsky, Daniel Pearl, Denis Lenoir, David Perkal, Christopher Chomyn, Patrick Cady, ASC president Stephen Lighthill (pictured above, left), and moderator George Spiro Dibie.
The International Cinematographers Guild member panel at Cine Gear, moderated by ICG president Steven Poster, will feature directors of photography Jeffrey Jur and Brandon Trost, and digital imaging technicians Kevin Britton and Kevin Stanley.
Tech news:
Warner Bros. has selected five companies to participate in its inaugural “Media Camp WB.” They are Cinecore, a paperless project management system for film and TV production; Dealflicks, addressing yield management for movie tickets;? Kumbuya, providing “social commerce in the context of curated, community generated content;” Reelhouse, an online video platform that allows filmmakers to self-distribute content directly to their viewers; and Storytime Studios’ Skit!, which “turns an iPad into a storytelling studio.” Through the program, these early stage companies will work alongside Warner Bros. executives to gain insight into the studio’s business and develop technologies aimed at the entertainment industry.
