The CW’s potential spinoff of The Vampire Diaries has enlisted the services of Claire Holt.
The actress, who plays Rebekah Mikaelson on The CW drama, has been tapped to join the network’s pilot The Originals, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
STORY: TV Pilots 2013: The Complete Guide
The Originals centers on Klaus (Joseph Morgan), who returns to the supernatural melting pot that is the French Quarter of New Orleans, a town he helped build centuries ago, and is reunited with his diabolical former protege Marcel (The Game‘s Charles Michael Davis).
Holt will reprise her role as original vampire Rebekah, Klaus’ half sister. In addition to Morgan and Daniel Gillies’ Elijah, Holt joins a cast that includes Phoebe Tonkin, who will reprise her role as werewolf Hayley; Daniella Pineda and Danielle Campbell, who will play witches named Sophie and Davina, respectively; and Sorority Row‘s Leah Pipes, who will play Camille, a human unaware of the supernatural universe that exists around her.
