MODESTO-

In light of the Boston tragedy, hundreds of Modestans strapped on their tennis shoes Thursday and decided to run three miles in memory of the three lives lost at the Boston marathon.

It all happened at Dry Creek Park, beginning at 5 p.m.

Some of the runners recently ran in the Modesto Marathon.

They say they know what it means to cross the finish line and wanted to do that for those who couldn’t finish the Boston race.

The event was sponsored by ABC Fitness Run Club  and the Yogurt Mill.
