In March we already reported that LG has tested a new high-end device with the codename “LG-D801” and today we have some more information about this new device. The LG D801 was (and still is) one of the fastest devices ever benchmarked, which isn’t a surprise considering the fact that it features a powerful Snapdragon 800-soc from Qualcomm. It is also interesting to see that the device is referred to as the “G2” in the benchmark, clearly a sign that this is likely going to be the Optimus G2.
Earlier this month we already saw how @evleaks published a number of photo’s of a new LG device that could be the Optimus G2, although we couldn’t say it for certain. Until today, because we got our hands on a new picture of the LG Optimus G2, which seems to confirm the name of the device as well. On the picture below you can see that the Optimus G2 is tested internally and that the recovery mode of the device is giving the user the option to send an email to G2-SW-Stability@lge.com. The G2-SW-Stability will likely stand for Optimus G2 software stability.
We expect that the Optimus G2 will feature a 5-inch 1080p display with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800-soc and the flagship device should be running on Android 4.2.2 according to the benchmark with presumably LG’s own graphical user-interface.
