USA Network will preview new drama Graceland for a limited time ahead of its summer debut.
The one-hour drama’s premiere episode from White Collar boss Jeff Eastin will be made available on video-on-demand from April 29 to May 12 — more than one month before it officially launches June 6 following Burn Notice.
Graceland follows a group of undercover agents from the FBI, DEA and Customs who live under one roof in a beachside home. Daniel Sunjata, Aaron Tveit, Vanessa Ferlito, Brandon Jay McLaren, Manny Montana and Serinda Swan star in the Fox TV Studios series.
“With the latest research showing a 40 percent increase in time spent watching TV via VOD, this preview is a key part of our marketing strategy for Graceland,” said Alexandra Shapiro, USA’s executive vice president of marketing and digital. “This is a buzz-worthy show that should generate a lot of fan excitement among early adopters, who can become advocates for our newest franchise.”
The pilot will be available on carriers including Comcast Xfinity TV, Time Warner Cable, Charter Communications, Cox Communications, Cablevision, DirecTV, Dish and Verizon FiOS.
This comes after USA made the entire Suits catalog available on VOD and on the network’s website earlier this year ahead of its winter return and included a curated selection of Psych episodes by series stars James Roday and Dule Hill.
Networks have increasingly previewed upcoming shows to test sampling, to gain traction online and to spread word of mouth. Most recently, Syfy debuted the April 29 return of Warehouse 13 on its website, and Amazon is utilizing a crowd-sourcing method to determine which pilots will go to series.
Graceland premieres at 10 p.m. June 6 on USA Network.
