CITRUS HEIGHTS—

Police say that a man tried to rob a teller at a Citrus Heights Wells Fargo Bank late Saturday morning.

The man walked into the bank, located near Auburn Boulevard and Whyte Avenue, around 11:10 a.m. and handed a teller a note.

No weapon was seen, and the suspect eventually left the bank empty handed.

He was last seen running from the bank along Auburn Boulevard.

Both the Citrus Heights Police Department and the FBI are investigating the attempted robbery. Anyone with information is asked to call (916) 727-5500 or Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP (4357).
