AUBURN-

It is a sound you don’t want to hear but as temperatures rise, rattlesnakes are making their presence known and they are nothing to play with.

“You can die as a result of being bitten by a rattle snake,” said Len Ramirez with Ramirez Rattlesnake Removal.

While these deadly creatures are mainly out to bite pets and rodents, they can and will bite people who get too close.

“Freeze, take a step back and give right of way to the snake,” said Ramirez.

Rattlesnakes can be found anywhere around or inside homes, cars, even child play areas.

Ramirez has handled rattlesnakes for nearly 30 years. He says they are nocturnal and can see perfect at night.

On severely hot days, rattlesnakes look for shade, so be aware of your surroundings.

“When they are vibrating their tail they are letting you know don’t tread on me. This is a sign that they are nervous,” said Ramirez

If you see one around your home, have it professionally removed. If you think you have a problem now, things could get worse.

Rattlesnakes can give birth to up to eight snakes.
