TORONTO — Entertainment One has picked up the Canadian rights to the Dakota Goyo-starrer Midnight Sun, a climate change drama directed by Roger Spottiswoode (Tomorrow Never Dies).
Medusa has picked up the indie movie’s rights in Italy, with Hyde Park Entertainment taking the international rights.
The $17 million feature, which also stars Goran Visnjic and Bridget Moynahan, is based on a script by Hugh Hudson and Bart Gavigan.
The picture, shot in northern Ontario, features a young boy (Goyo) who rescues and reunites a young polar bear cub separated from its mother.
Midnight Sun is produced by HD Productions and Media-Max, RHH Productions and Original Pictures.
