TORONTO – Justin Bieber and Carly Rae Jepsen on Tuesday joined the list of nominees for the 2013 MuchMusic Awards.
Both Canadian pop stars were nominated in the best Canadian international video of the year competition, and the Fave artist/group category voted on by fans.
Jepsen’s “This Kiss” and Bieber’s “As Long As You Love Me” singles will contend in the best Canadian international video category against Avril Lavigne’s “Here’s to Never Growing Up,” Tegan And Sara’s “Closer,” and “Red Hands,” by Walk Off The Earth.

Also nominated in the Fave artist/group competition is deadmau5, Drake and Marianas Trench, which leads the MuchMusic nominee list with six in all, including best video and best director.
Toronto rapper Drake earned five nominations, including best hip hop video for “Started From the Bottom,” while east coast rapper Classified scored four nominations, and previously announced performer Demi Lovato is nominated for best video artist and in the best Fave international artist/group.
South Korean pop sensation Psy, who is to co-host and perform at the 2013 MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto, also received a nomination.
The June 16 music video kudosfest will air on the MuchMusic channel in Canada and Fuse in the U.S.
