The first poster for Oldboy, Spike Lee‘s remake of the Park Chan-wook‘s 2003 film, has been unveiled.
The image features Josh Brolin emerging from a large trunk, surrounded by a green field. A woman stands in the background wearing a pink jacket and holding a yellow umbrella.
The image is not a rendering made for the poster, but rather a still from the film. And the logo itself is Brolin’s handwriting.

Lee’s pic is a revenge thriller about an advertising executive (Brolin) who is kidnapped and held hostage for two decades. When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on a mission to find out who was behind the tortuous punishment, but he soon learns that his torment is not yet over.
Chan-wook’s trippy film, loosely based on Japanese manga of the same name written by Nobuaki Minegishi and Garon Tsuchiya, won the Grand Prix award at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival.
The American remake from Lee also stars Elizabeth Olsen and Sharlto Copley. It’s slated for release Oct. 25 via FilmDistrict.
