SAN DIEGO — Sons of Anarchy was once again the closing panel in the massive Hall H. This year, the FX drama brought new videos from season six and plenty of answers to questions about the upcoming season and the possibility of season seven being the end of the road.

Creator Kurt Sutter was joined onstage by most of the cast of the motorcycle-club drama, including Charlie Hunnam, Katey Sagal, Ron Perlman, Maggie Siff, Kim Coates, Mark Boone Junior, Tommy Flanagan, Theo Rossi, Dayton Callie and director Paris Barclay.
The presentation opened with new footage of season six. It showed that Jax (Hunnam) is still doing plenty of contemplative writing. Also, that both Clay (Perlman) and Tara (Siff) are wearing orange prison jumpsuits. And it looks like Chibs (Flanagan) will be Jax’s new vp. The footage looks great, promising plenty of drama and violence to come this season.
It was also revealed that Sons of Anarchy will have graphic novels, and some of the covers were shown to the crowd. They will run alongside the show.

Early on in the panel, Sutter was asked about his plans — which he has mentioned several times — to end the show in seven seasons.
“I think we’ve really created these characters and narratives that have been very organic to this world, and I feel like we’re running toward the finish,” he said, adding that he wants to find an endgame before he overstays his welcome.
How would he end the seventh season? “Big pool of blood,” he told the crowd.
Sutter added that he has a sense of what he wants the final scene to be, but he’s still not sure how they’ll get there.

Sutter also revealed that the sixth season will pick up just a few days after the events of season five ended.
Each of the actors onstage also got to talk a bit about where his or her character will be heading this season.
Hunnam said Jax will be dealing with many more challenges as he attempts to lead the California motorcycle club. At the same time, he’s still dealing with the death of his best friend, Opie (Ryan Hurst). “It was really tragic and painful to let go of that character,” he commented.
It also sounded like it will be an interesting season for Clay. Perlman told the crowd, “Season six is him knowing that there’s no more leveraging, there’s no more maneuvering, there’s no more choices. There’s just this bounty on his head.”
Sutter, who not only created the show but plays a character on it, told the crowd that Otto’s physical pain is reflective of his own mental anguish. “I think we’ll continue down that path this season, and awful things will keep happening to him,” he said.
Sons of Anarchy‘s sixth season premieres September 10 on FX.
Comic-Con runs July 17-21 in San Diego.
