VANCOUVER – This must be Belgium.
Montreal’s Fantasia International Film Festival on Tuesday said it is taking its international co-production market format, Frontieres, to the Belgian capital as part of the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival.
The strategy is creating a Montreal and Brussels axis for genre film producers, with Frontières taking place first in Montreal in July, and then shifting to Brussels in April, starting in 2014.

The expansion follows a strategic partnership between Fantasia in Montreal, the Brussels film festival and Vision-in-Motion that includes funding from the EU’s MEDIA Mundus program.
The move also comes as the Frontières co-production market worked over the years to connect North American genre producers with their European counterparts.
The Fantasia International Film Festival will have its 17th edition from July 18 to August 6, 2013.
The Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival just concluded its 31st edition.
