Organizers have announced the second-annual Bacon Fest in Sacramento.

The week-long celebration of the beloved cured pork snack kicks off Jan. 20 and ends Jan. 27.

More than 30 restaurants participate in this year’s event, including Hook & Ladder, The Eatery, Pangaea Two Brews Cafe, Old Ironsides, Magpie Cafe, Doughbot, Shady Lady Saloon, Ten22 and, of course, Bacon & Butter.

An opening night party will be held at Hook & Ladder, followed by a week of special food and drink events.

Capping off the week will be a chef’s competition, held at Mulvaney’s. Proceeds from the competition will go toward the American River College Culinary Arts program and the Center for Land Based Learning in Winters.
