Media and technology moguls are descending upon Sun Valley, Idaho, for the start of the 31st annual Allen & Co. retreat, which has long served as a forum for industry CEOs to discuss possible mergers, acquisitions or alliances.
Expected guests include Rupert Murdoch of News Corp, Jeff Bewkes of Time Warner, Bob Iger of Disney, Philippe Dauman of Viacom, Harvey Weinstein of The Weinstein Co. and top Silicon Valley execs such as Bill Gates of Microsoft and Sheryl Sandberg of Facebook.

As the confab got underway Tuesday night in Idaho, some of the sessions on the schedule were leaked to the media.
According to various reports, Wednesday’s agenda includes a sports panel with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell as well as a presentation by Google co-founder Larry Page.
On Thursday, New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg will lead a discussion on economic growth. Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto also will be featured in a session, while CNBC’s Andrew Ross Sorkin will moderate a discussion about the future of universities. Also on Thursday’s schedule is a panel titled “Cyber Insecurity.”

On Friday, events reportedly include a media-focused panel with Murdoch, Liberty Media’s John Malone and IAC/InterActiveCorp’s Barry Diller; an interview with Jordan’s King Abdullah II conducted by Tom Brokaw; an interview with Facebook’s Sandberg conducted by Charlie Rose; a political-themed panel with Jeb Bush and Bill Bradley; and a session centered on the environment.
Meanwhile, Saturday includes a discussion with Gates and his wife, Melinda.
