Robyn, that critically beloved and perennially forward-thinking Swedish pop artist, bestowed fans with an avalanche of new music in 2010 with her three-part Body Talk series. Sadly, those songs will have to hold fans over for a long time — three years have passed, and the singer says that a follow-up album is “nowhere near” completion.
“I’ve started working again,” the 34-year-old says in a new interview with The Guardian. “I don’t know what it will be — it’s too early to say if it’s going to be an album, or an EP. I don’t even know if it’s going to be my own music. We shall see. I see people messaging me on my Twitter and sometimes I feel bad because I’m nowhere near finished with the album — it’s probably going to be a while before you hear anything new from me.”

The occasion for the new interview is the release of a music video for “U Should Know Better,” a collaboration with Snoop Dogg that originally appeared on her Body Talk Pt. 2 release in 2010. When asked why she was releasing a music video for a 3-year-old song, Robyn replied that the video’s director, Maria Wahlberg, had “a really good idea, that’s the only reason.” She also said that the video release is not a prelude to the release of any new music.
Body Talk, which featured the single “Dancing on My Own,” has sold 93,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Robyn recently popped up as a guest vocalist on “Go Kindergarten,” a track off the Lonely Island’s The Wack Album.
