‘Glee’ finale redux: Hear Jessica Sanchez, Zedd perform ‘Clarity’ together

We cannot deny our massive love for Zedd’s song “Clarity”: It’s catchy, dance-y, and it is the sort of thing you really should not be ashamed of while fist-pumping in your room. Having it on “Glee” with former “American Idol” star Jessica Sanchez was icing on what was already a very delicious cake.

While the performance below loses some elements of that, there is a pretty good reason for it in that it’s not meant to be a dance track. Rather, it is an stripped down version that Sanchez performed with Zedd recently when he stopped by for her live YouTube show. If you did not hear it then, Sanchez’s label at Interscope, being the kind folks that they are (though we wish they had done a teensy bit more to promote the album prior to its release), put it up for public viewing on Friday.

We gotta say that this performance is precisely what you would expect. Zedd’s a master musician, though we’re sure that there are some people out there who still see his name and think of the bad guy from “Power Rangers.” Meanwhile, Jessica’s never sounded better or more current than since she started rocking in the dance genre. This is no slight against most of her “American Idol” performances, but she excels doing the sort of music that this generation readily likes.

For those who didn’t catch the memo earlier this week, “Me, You, & the Music” debuted at #26 on the Billboard 200, which is not bad considering that “Tonight” featuring Ne-Yo has yet to even hit its adds date. For those of you who are pulling your hair in frustration at Interscope, know that the label actually seems to be ready to position Sanchez more for the summer. It’s a perfect track for the June-August month, and most of her younger fans will be ready to party without school to worry about.
