SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY-

For the fifth year in a row, law enforcement agencies in San Joaquin County have teamed up in an effort to suppress crimes and robberies during the holiday season.

The two-day sweep targeted hundreds of locations and resulted in dozens of arrests.

“We’re looking for any gang paraphernalia such as red clothing, blue clothing, depending what kind of gang this individual belongs to. We’re looking for any weapons and any illegal narcotics,” said Lt. James Hood with the San Joaquin Sheriff’s Department.

Wednesday, officers and deputies made 35 arrests and seized 22 guns, one weapons suppressor, one bullet-proof vest and five pounds of marijuana. Thursday, 48 arrests were made with four guns and four pounds of marijuana seized.
