TORONTO — Canadian exhibitor Cineplex is betting moviegoers will pre-buy a digital copy of Guillermo del Toro’s action flick Pacific Rim when they purchase a theater ticket.
The Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures movie is the first choice for Cineplex’s SuperTicket, which bundles a cinema ticket and a pre-order of cloud-based UltraViolet version of the same movie.
A Pacific Rim SuperTicket will cost $19.99 for a standard-definition digital download or $24.99 for a high-definition digital download, plus the cost of the theatrical movie ticket.
