Discovery Channel is mining for more Jungle Gold.
The series, centering on gold miners George Wright and Scott Lomu, will have its season-two premiere at 10 p.m. ET on Sunday, Aug. 11.
The pair return to face Ghana’s notorious rainy season, armed militia, road blocks and treacherous jungle as they attempt to mine enough gold to pay off their debts and provide a future for their families and for the widow and family of Wally Macias, their former mining partner who died before realizing their dreams of striking it rich.
EXCLUSIVE: ‘Gold Rush: South America’ Premiere Date, Details Revealed
The duo — former high-roller real estate dealers — still face a $1 million-plus debt after losing it all in the real estate crash in 2006. Lomu must now turn to his father-in-law, Bud, to invest in their third attempt at gold mining in Ghana, Africa’s second-largest gold-producing country.
Alongside new colleague Dave Thomas, Wright and Lomu head into dangerous missions to reclaim their mining equipment and prospect 50 acres of unforgiving but gold-rich land in just seven days.

Jungle Gold is produced for Discovery Channel by Raw TV, Sam Maynard and Jos Cushing serving as executive producers and Ian Dray as showrunner. For Discovery, Christo Doyle is executive producer and Meagan Davis is producer.
