The music legend received an honorary doctor of music degree from Berklee College of Music during the Boston school’s commencement ceremony Saturday.
Carole King and Annie Lennox also received honoree doctorates.

Nelson had an interesting idea of what to do with his newfound doctor status.
“I was going to ask them if I could write my own medication,” he told The Boston Globe. “Probably not, but it doesn’t hurt to ask.” He added that he was honored his degree was coming from the renowned music school.
“Yesterday when we were rehearsing, I tell you, it was incredible to see those young kids doing what they want to do.”
Nelson celebrated his 80th birthday last month.
