COLOGNE, Germany – FremantleMedia International has signed a series of major deals totaling more than 220 hours of programming with broadcasters in Germany and Austria, including package deals with ProSiebenSat.1 and RTL Group channels.
Among the largest deals is a package sold to ProSiebenSat.1 that includes the Chloe Sevigny starrer Hit and Miss, season five of fantasy series Merlin and the Lisa Kudrow comedy Web Therapy for VOD platform Maxdome and Jamie Oliver cooking shows Jamie’s 15 Minute Meals and Jamie Cooks Summer for female-skewing station Sixx. Children’s channel Super RTL also picked up Merlin‘s season five for German free TV while niche cable network RTL Crime nabbed Hit and Miss. Turner in Germany picked up Web Therapy for its pay TV channel here.

Other sales include Bio Germany taking seasons nine and ten of Project Runaway as well as the first season of its spinoff show Project Runway All Stars and Austrian public broadcaster ORF taking the two Jamie Oliver series.
“The German-speaking territories are not only a key market for every major distributor, but they are also home to some of the most discerning audiences in Europe — and the competition between suppliers of high-quality content is fierce,” said Maximilian Bolenius, Fremantle’s vp sales for German-speaking Europe & Central/Eastern Europe, announcing the deals.
FremantleMedia International has also unveiled its slate for the upcoming NATPE Budapest screenings in Hungary later this month. The group, which is owned by Germany’s Bertelsmann, will screen programming highlights including Australian ratings hit Wentworth, Brit comedy Count Arthur Strong and reality show Tattoo Nightmares for buyers from Eastern Europe.
