Spinal Tap co-founder Christopher Guest has hinted that the semi-ficticious heavy metal outfit may be reuniting in 2014.
In an interview with The Observer, Guest said that “We get asked to do shows on a regular basis. But what I will say is that we’re in the midst of talking about something for next year…”

The “we” refers to Guest (Nigel Tufnel), Michael McKean (David St. Hubbins) and Harry Shearer (Derek Smalls).
The interview mostly focused on Guest’s latest work, Family Tree, a mockumentary-style sitcom that premiered on HBO in May, but the actor-director behind films like Waiting for Guffman and Best in Show did touch on the parody rock band made famous in 1984’s This is Spinal Tap.

Guest spoke briefly about playing the Pyramid Stage at The Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts with his Spinal Tap bandmates in 2009.
“It was a fantastic show. There were 130,000 people there or something. Since the film 30 years ago we’ve gone on tour, playing Wembley, the Albert Hall, Carnegie Hall… It’s weird but great. The fiction became real.”
