NBC-TV4 was honored for its daily newscast at 6 p.m. as the network affiliate won a total of eight awards, the most of any outlet at the 65th Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards on Saturday evening.
ABC7 won the second most awards with seven, while KTLA5 tied with Time Warner Cable SportsNet for the third most with five Emmys each. Public broadcaster KCET was next with four awards.
KTLA5’s morning news show was honored as the outstanding regularly scheduled newscast between 4 a.m. and 11 a.m. each day.
The KMEX news team’s Spanish-language Noticias A Las Once was named outstanding regularly scheduled daily evening newscast (airing between 7 p.m. and midnight).

The Spanish-language network Univision’s Los Angeles outlet was presented the Governor’s Award for Educate, es el Momento.
Other Emmys won by NBC4 included Sports Series – News for The London Olympics: Socal Shines At Summer Games, reported by Robert Kovacik, executive producer Wendy Harris; Investigative Reporting – News for Illegal Animal Traffickers, by reporter Ana Garcia (who recently left the station) and others; News Special for LA Riots: 20 Years Later; and Serious News Story – Single Report for Frankie’s Fight For Freedom, producer Mary Harris and anchor Colleen Wiliams.
The Emmy for Entertainment Programming was awards to ABC7 for Eye On LA Presents: The Legends of Laurel Canyon, executive producer and host Tina Malave, executive producer Lisa Gonzales, and producers Jose Manuel Mayorquin and Peter Kennedy Weiner.
