SACRAMENTO-

Clutching her teddy bear, a brave 7-year-old girl describes how she escaped the trunk of an attempted kidnapper.

“It was spooky and scary. It was the most scared I had ever been in my life,” she told FOX40 under the condition of anonymity.

She said she was with her mother Saturday morning near Dee’s Dee’s Discounts in South Sacramento when she first spotted the man, who asked to buy her something. She declined.

But the man was persistent. He would not take no for an answer the girl tells us, so he got in his car and followed the family for a mile.

“And then he took me,” she told FOX40. The man threw her in the truck of his car near the corner of 47th Avenue and 54th Street.

The 7-year-old was in a dark trunk for 10 long minutes before she saw a little light.

“I kicked the door and I went out. I jumped out,” she said.

The suspect got away until detectives arrested 25-year-old Cedric Holland after connecting him to a Bluetooth they found at the scene.

“I’m happy he’s in jail” the girl’s father tells FOX40.

“Thank you, angel, for watching me. Thank you for letting escape from that trunk,” she said.
