The Veronica Mars movie is adding a New Girl star.
Max Greenfield confirmed that he’ll be joining the Kickstarter-funded feature film during a Google Hangout interview Tuesday with Gold Derby.
The actor, who broke out for his portrayal of lovable douchebag Schmidt on the Fox comedy, will reprise his role as Deputy Leo in the Kickstarter-funded feature from Rob Thomas.

“I will be there — so will Deputy Leo,” Greenfield told Gold Derby of the character he played in more than 10 episodes of the UPN/CW series. “I’m really excited about it. It’s one of those few occasions where you’re going to work on something, and I think I’m going there for a day and everybody is so excited to be there. Everybody is going to be going full force on this project and it’s going to be, like, a fun reunion. You want to go in there and do some really solid work because, obviously, people put up their own money to see this. I think everybody who’s playing a part in this thing has a responsibility, which is fun and exciting.”
Greenfield becomes the latest high-profile addition to the Kristen Bell starrer. He joins Ryan Hansen (Dick), Krysten Ritter (Gia), Tina Majorino (Mac), Francis Capra (Weevil), Brandon Hillock (Deputy Sacks), Kevin Sheridan (Sean), Jonathan Chesner (Corny), Sam Huntington (Luke), Amanda Noret (Madison), Daran Norris (Cliff), Chris Lowell (Piz), Percy Daggs III (Wallace), Jason Dohring (Logan), Enrico Colantoni (Keith) and Bell (Veronica).
