MODESTO –

Three suspects were arrested for armed robbery near Coffee Road and Orangeburg Avenue on Saturday.

Around 12:30 p.m., police saw what looked like a struggle between several people at a gas station. The three suspects got into a PT Cruiser and took off from the station. Police told the driver to stop, but the car did not stop.

A chase ensued, with the pursuit ending at Allen Court. The three suspects tried to flee on foot, but two—Gabriel Bara, 28, of Salida; Chad Goodwin, 33, of Turlock—were caught by police.

The third suspect—Solomon Chavez, 26, of Ceres—fled to a home near Kurt Avenue and Betty Lane. After establishing a perimeter, police approached the house. Officers heard yelling from the house, and Chavez looked out the rear door of the house. Finally, Chavez left the house and was arrested.

It was later determined that the yelling was coming from someone in the home telling Chavez, who had forced his way in, to leave.

Investigators are still investigation the robbery. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (209) 521-4636.
