We all know about the first and second rules of Fight Club, but it appears that the third rule of Fight Club may be “When people least expect it, make a sequel in comic book form.”
After an appearance at Comic-Con during which he told attendees to the “Ode to Nerds” panel that he was working on a Fight Club comic book, Chuck Palahniuk has both confirmed, and given new details about, the graphic novel project to the Cult website.

“It will likely be a series of books that update the story ten years after the seeming end of Tyler Durden,” Palahniuk explained. “Nowadays, Tyler is telling the story, lurking inside Jack, and ready to launch a come-back. Jack is oblivious. Marla is bored. Their marriage has run aground on the rocky coastline of middle-aged suburban boredom. It’s only when their little boy disappears, kidnapped by Tyler, that Jack is dragged back into the world of Mayhem.”
The potential series — which the author describes as “of course, dark and messy” — isn’t expected until 2015, with Palahniuk saying that no artist nor publisher has committed to the project yet. Somewhere, Ed Norton is experiencing moments of extreme ambivalence over the prospect of any potential movie adaptation and what that would mean in regards to his record for comic-book-related movies where he plays one half of a dual identity.
