Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputies found a stolen ATM early Thursday morning in Rancho Cordova.
Investigators say the machine was ripped from a Walgreens store on Sunrise Boulevard shortly after 4 a.m. As deputies were on their way, they were told that the thieves truck had already left the parking lot.
Deputies say the thieves’ truck was found not long after on Sheldon Road near Highway 99, and the ATM was found in the back with a chain wrapped around it. The man driving was arrested.
A short time later, a woman was stopped along Elk Grove Boulevard. Deputies found burglary tools in her pickup truck. Investigators say she was involved in the ATM theft.
The Walgreens was open for business Thursday as employees cleaned up the mess.
