Could The Hangover continue?
With the third and final installment in Todd Phillips’ comedy franchise set for a May 24 release, some insiders are wondering if the debauchery could live on through Ken Jeong’s scene-stealing Mr. Chow.
“I would love to do more Mr. Chow,” Jeong tells The Hollywood Reporter of a possible spinoff involving his absurd, fun-loving character. “Todd Phillips gave me a career.”

Jeong burst onto the scene as the memorable OBGYN opposite Seth Rogen and Katherine Heigl in the Judd Apatow-produced Knocked Up, popping up again in small but notable roles in Apatow Productions’ Step Brothers and Pineapple Express, as well as Relativity and Universal’s Role Models. But it was the role of Chow — stark naked and jumping out of a car trunk in his first introduction — that put Jeong on the map.
“The Hangover changed my life,” he says. “As an actor, I’ve learned so much from Todd Phillips in the last four years doing these three movies. Hangover III is the best thing I’ve ever done.”

The 43-year-old, a certified physician who studied at Duke University and UNC Chapel Hill, still holds ties to his former life in medicine. On the red carpet of Paramount’s Pain & Gain Hollywood premiere, one well-wisher approached Jeong about a mutual doctor friend.
“He didn’t think you’d remember him,” said the guest, to which Jeong excitedly declared “of course I do!” and recorded an enthusiastic video message for the former pal on an iPhone.
Jeong can be seen in Michael Bay’s Pain & Gain, opposite Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson, Anthony Mackie, Rebel Wilson and Tony Shalhoub, out April 26.
