Will there be an ‘N Sync reunion at Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards? That was the rumor that got the Internet abuzz on Tuesday.
In his SiriusXM show Dirty Pop With Lance Bass, the former ‘N Syncer addressed the speculation — without actually confirming or denying that the reunion will take place.

“Justin Timberlake is getting the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award this Sunday at the awards, so of course people are automatically going to think we’re going to be there performing, but this is exactly how it happened and I knew these rumors were going to fly,” he said.
Bass pointed out that he, along with Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick, flew to Miami to see Timberlake’s show with Jay Z at the Sun Life Stadium on Friday. (J.C. Chasez couldn’t make the trip because he was in California, working.)
Bass says he posted a photo of himself with Fatone and Kirkpatrick on Instagram, which he says further fanned the flames of rumors over a possible reunion.
“I think that’s what started the rumor that there’s going to be this big reunion with ‘N Sync,” he said, adding: “It’s amazing to see the reaction out there on Twitter and social media [and] how many people are supporting ‘N Sync. It’s so nice to see because when we ended things [over] 10 years ago, there was no social media, there was no Twitter, but it’s so cute to see how many people are supporting [us], and ‘N Sync was even trending.”

When guest Lea Black (Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Miami) declared that fans should “start demanding a reunion,” Bass replied: “That would be an amazing time.”
MTV has neither confirmed nor denied the reports. Timberlake’s rep hasn’t responded to The Hollywood Reporter’s request for comment.
The 2013 VMAs are set to take place on Sunday at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
