Stay classy!
Paramount has released the first full-length trailer for the highly anticipated Anchorman sequel that reunites Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, David Koechner and Christina Applegate after nine long years. Set to the backdrop of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’,” Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues — now set in 1980s New York City instead of sunny 1970s San Diego — follows Ron Burgundy and his motley crew of news broadcasters as they attempt to revitalize their careers with a new 24-hour news channel.

When Ron is introduced with the idea, a disheveled Ron declares that it’s time to get back in front of the camera. “I’m going to do the thing that God put Ron Burgundy on this earth to do: have salon-quality hair and read the news.”
The trailer hints at a possible new relationship for Ron, with Meagan Good in the role. But in true Ron Burgundy fashion, his quips aren’t exactly politically correct. (See: the awkward dinner scene at the tail-end of the two-minute trailer.) Another scene features Brick and his wife (Kristen Wiig) in their version of a romantic conversation. “Your hair looks like wet popcorn.” “I like the parts of your face that are covered in skin.” And what exactly is Brian Fantana doing dressed only in his tighty whities?
Anchorman 2 was penned by Ferrell and Adam McKay, who also directed the follow-up to the 2004 favorite. A poster highlighting Ron Burgundy’s famous mustache was released earlier Tuesday. (Another version of the trailer will play in front of Brad Pitt‘s zombie apocalypse movie, World War Z.)
Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues hits theaters Dec. 20.
