MODESTO-

Firefighters say an early Wednesday morning house fire in Modesto led to a roof collapse.

The fire at the home, along Elmwood Avenue, is believed to have started on the back porch. The family of four inside were able to escape unharmed.

Firefighters were pulled from the house minutes before the roof collapsed, according to the Modesto Regional Fire Authority.

The damage done to the house is estimated to be about $200,000, along with a $50,000 loss of belongings inside.

The cause is still unknown, but investigators say it was likely accidental.
