Entertainment holding company Toast & Jam Holdings, which controls the production, acquisition and distribution company Cinipix, will also now manage clients with the signing of Tinoco Management.
“This deal is a result of perfect alignment of interests at a perfect time for our company,” Tinoco CEO Hector Tinoco, who will lead the new division, said in a statement. “The complimentary elements that cross creative, financial and strategic plains will allow us to build a robust management business that gives clients added options to explore.”
The new Tinoco Management will focus on developing and producing projects for its clients, starting with Harvest Season, a horror movie about a group of friends trapped in a haunted house, which will be co-produced by Cinipix.
“We’ve planned on expanding operations and bringing in highly respected executives who are as passionate as they are skilled in their respective fields,” Cinipix CEO Todd Slater said in a statement. “As we gear up for what we believe will be a major growth period for the company, we’re entrusting Hector to help build the foundation of our talent management division.”
Since forming Toast & Jam in March, financiers Neil Grossman and Howard Silverman have moved quickly into several sectors of the film and TV industry, investing in Cinipix, which merged with animation house Cosmic Toast Studios in 2012 and also has an equipment rental arm called Cinirents. Cinipix is currently producing the sci-fi actioner Newcomers and recently acquired the U.S. distribution rights for the basketball documentary Long Shot: The Kevin Laue Story, which it plans to give a fall theatrical release.
