It’s Spirit Week on Austin & Ally.
In Sunday’s episode of the Disney Channel comedy, “Sports & Brains,” Austin (Ross Lynch), Ally (Laura Marano), Trish (Raini Rodriguez) and Dez (Calum Worthy) make a pact to become more active in Marino High School’s extracurriculars. After Austin injures himself after joining the basketball team — in an attempt to be known for more than just music — his friends are forced to figure out a way for him to accomplish his upcoming performance.
The Hollywood Reporter exclusively debuts a scene from the episode (airing at 8:30 p.m.), featuring Dez voicing his desire to join the cheerleading squad and Ally trying her hand at being a reporter. After Trish finds out the monetary advantages of having school spirit ($1,000 to be exact), she does a complete 180. Watch the video below to see what happens next.
Additionally, Rodriguez will make her D23 Expo singing debut Aug. 10 in Anaheim, Calif., when she takes the stage to perform “Living Your Dreams” at 1:15 p.m. in the Disney Channel Pavilion. Following her performance, a meet-and-greet will take place from 1:30-2:15 p.m.
“I’m so excited to be part of D23 Expo because I get to meet our awesome fans and sing for them,” said Rodriguez. “Music is a universal language that everyone understands, and I love that you can feel every emotion through it. Music speaks to everyone.”
Austin & Ally airs Sundays at 8:30 p.m. on Disney Channel.
