MODESTO—
A 19-year-old man was shot and killed in a drive-by on the day he was to be married, family of the man told FOX40 Thursday.
The shooting was first reported around 2 p.m. Police believe the shooting happened in another area from where the victim was found. After the shooting, the friend drove the car to a residential area near Leon and Figaro Avenues and called 911.
Family also told FOX40 that a baby and a friend of the man were in the car at the time. The baby belongs to the friend, not the shooting victim. Both were unhurt.
Police are trying to figure out a motive for the shooting. A gang connection has not been ruled out, police say.
