The shooter, identified by officials as Oakland resident Anderson Swift, 41, drove away in the victim’s car heading north on Silva Valley Parkway.

Swift lost control of his car, went across traffic lanes, down an embankment, then the car rolled over as it hit a wood fence, landing on its roof in a home’s backyard.

Several people in the area heard the crash and walked over to see what was going on. As they saw Swift try to leave the area, they contacted him, unaware of the earlier shooting.

El Dorado Hills firefighters and emergency crews arrived and arrested Swift.

The identity of the woman who was killed has not been released at this time.
