Sacha Baron Cohen will be honored at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles’ Britannia Awards.
The Les Miserables actor will receive the Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for Excellence in Comedy at this year’s BAFTA LA Britannia Awards on Nov. 9 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The award show will be aired on BBC America on Nov. 10 at 8 p.m. ET as a two-hour special with coverage of the red carpet.

“Sacha’s bravery and comic ingenuity is richly deserving of an honor that bears the name of Charlie Chaplin. We are delighted to be honoring him at this year’s Britannia Awards,” said Gary Dartnall, chairman of BAFTA Los Angeles, in a statement.
The Britannia Awards celebrate the achievements of individuals and companies that have dedicated themselves to advancing the entertainment arts.
Previous recipients of the award include Trey Parker, Matt Stone, Ben Stiller and Betty White.
Cohen will also be joined by previously announced honorees such as Benedict Cumberbatch, who will receive the Britannia Award for British Artist of the Year; George Clooney, who will receive the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film; Kathryn Bigelow, who will receive the John Schlesinger Britannia Award for Excellence in Directing; and Sir Ben Kingsley, who will receive the Albert R. Broccoli Britannia Award for Worldwide Contribution to Entertainment.
