Suspected Drunk Driver Flees Injury Accident, Gets Arrested by Elk Grove Police

A suspected drunk driver was arrested late Friday night after he allegedly fled the scene of an injury accident.

According to Elk Grove Police, 53-year old Tien Nguyen of Elk Grove was operating a car that was involved in an accident near W. Stockton Blvd. and Wooded Brook Drive. Instead of stopping, Nguyen allegedly left the scene of the accident.

The accident victim followed the suspect and contacted Elk Grove Police who were able to conduct an endorsement stop. Nguyen displayed objective signs of impairment, failed a field sobriety test and was arrested.

A passenger of the car hit by Nguyen was transported to an area hospital for treatment as a result of injuries sustained in the accident. Nguyen is being held on $60,000 bail on three different charges.
