Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures has passed the $2 billion mark at the international box office.
Disney, which has surpassed $2 billion internationally for four years running, has never reached the milestone faster than it did in 2013.
The major success of Iron Man 3, starring Robert Downey Jr., helped skyrocket the studio past the milestone. The third pic in the Marvel franchise has earned $804.6 million in foreign grosses, leading to an astounding $1.2 billion worldwide.

Additionally, the Disney/Pixar prequel Monsters University earned $397.5 million of its $658.6 million worldwide total internationally, and Oz the Great and Powerful earned more than half of its $491.9 million worldwide cume overseas.
Disney has a couple more big films heading to theaters before the year’s end. Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World opens in theaters around the world in late October and early November. The Chris Hemsworth starrer opens in the U.S. on Nov. 8. Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Frozen, featuring the voices of Kristen Bell and Josh Gad, starts its worldwide rollout in late November.
